a spark perhaps?

One muse later and I'm drawing more than I have in a long time. It's weird to say that finding a muse has brought back a spark into my art, but it has. (Even Merlin has noticed a difference.) I don't know if it's because I'm more focused or if it's because I'm happier, but what I do know is that my sketchbooks are filling faster. I'm not leaving as many drawings half done and haphazardly lying about my floor. They're more complete.. more.. ah what's the word? Precise? No, that's not it either. Whole. That's it. There's a sense of wholeness to them. They're not just random subjects that seem to be thrown onto paper. They serve a purpose. They paint stories of people instead of just capturing a single moment.

I blame this on the change of weather as well. Autumn is my favorite time of year so my inspiration seems to be all over the place (though I honestly just love watching the seasons change in their cycle). I can't wait until I can sit outside of the art building and library and sketch out students that walk by and the environment around them. Maybe I can actually convince someone to bring me coffee this time.

I have good feelings for this semester.
